Development of National Building Code Training Manual and Curriculum for Municipal Engineers

ESS in partnership with the National Society for Earthquake Technology (NSET) Nepal, successfully developed a comprehensive training manual and curriculum for municipal engineers. This project, funded by the USAID/Tayar Nepal program and guided by the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC), aimed to enhance the capacity of municipal engineers to implement the National Building Code (MBC) effectively.
Task Completed by ESS:
- Thoroughly examined existing NBC training manuals and guidelines to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
- Established detailed methodologies for the preparation of the training manual, ensuring a structured and effective approach.
- Ensured that the training manual and curriculum aligned with the revised NBC standards, promoting compliance and best practices.
- Allocated experienced professionals (Architect, Electrical Engineer, Sanitary Engineer, and Geo-technical engineers) to contribute their specialized knowledge and expertise to the development process.
- Allocated a comprehensive training manual and curriculum covering essential topics such as Architectural Design, Structural Design, Sanitary and Plumbing Design, Electrical Design, and Geo-technical Analysis.
- Successfully delivered the final training manual and curriculum to the client, providing a valuable resource for capacity building and skill enhancement.
