Workshop on “Earthquake Hazard Assessment and Aftershock Forecasting”
A three-day workshop on “Earthquake Hazard Assessment and Aftershock Forecasting” is concluded on February 29, 2024. The workshop aimed to improve earthquake hazard assessment in Nepal and establish a system of collaboration among seismic hazard professionals. It involved 40 participants including researchers and practitioners from various disciplines related to earthquake hazard assessment. The event was organized by the National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET) and the United States Geological Survey (USGS), in collaboration with Earthquake Safety Solutions (ESS), with guidance from the Department of Mines and Geology (DMG) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) of the Government of Nepal with funding support from USAID/ Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA).
