Capacity Building on National Building Code(NBC) Implementation and Risk-Sensitive Land Use Plan (RSLUP)

Earthquake Safety Solutions (ESS), in partnership with the National Society for Earthquake Technology Nepal-NSET has completed a significant capacity-building project under the USAID’s Tayar Nepal program. The project aimed to enhance Nepal’s disaster preparedness and response capabilities by focusing on risk-sensitive land use planning and building code implementation.
Key Achievements of the Project:
- Developed a comprehensive training plan and curriculum on risk-sensitive land use planning (RSLUP) to equip local government officials and technical experts with the necessary knowledge and skills.
- Conducted training sessions for approximately 40 individuals from Tayar Nepal’s core and twin municipalities, collaborating with the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MOFAGA) and local municipalities.
- Developed a comprehensive training plan and curriculum for Training of Trainers (ToT) on National Building Code Implementation.
- Provided training of trainers (TOT) to approximately 30 engineers on the National Building Code (NBC) training manual, in collaboration with the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC).
