DHL Nepal Enhances Workplace Safety with Earthquake Preparedness Orientation and Evacuation Drill Exercise
DHL Nepal organized a one-day orientation session on “Earthquake Risk Reduction, Preparedness, and Basics of Fire Safety” at its Sinamangal office in Kathmandu on November 25, 2025. The program was delivered by Earthquake Safety Solutions (ESS), providing technical expertise to strengthen staff awareness and readiness for earthquake and fire emergencies.
A total of 48 staff members (13 females and 35 males) actively participated in the session. The orientation covered Nepal’s earthquake hazards, structural and non-structural risk reduction measures, and key preparedness actions, including identifying safe zones, preparing emergency kits, planning communication, and practicing the Drop–Cover–Hold On technique. Participants also received guidance on safe evacuation procedures, assembly point management, and the roles of emergency response teams.
On 3rd December 2025, ESS conducted an Earthquake Evacuation Drill where staff safely evacuated from all floors, completed headcounts, and practiced using fire extinguishers. The drill concluded with a debriefing session focused on performance and improvement areas.
This initiative served as a refresher for returning participants and essential training for new team members, reflecting DHL Nepal’s continued commitment to building a strong culture of workplace safety and preparedness.
