Earthquake Orientation at the Australian Embassy in Nepal
On April 1, 2025, the Australian Embassy in Nepal successfully conducted a one-day orientation program on Earthquake Preparedness and Risk Reduction Measures. Organized by the Australian Embassy in Nepal with technical support from Earthquake Safety Solutions (ESS), the program aimed to enhance awareness and preparedness among staff members through engaging sessions.
Two identical orientations were conducted in Nepali and English, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Approximately 30 staff members actively participated, gaining essential knowledge on earthquake risks, non-structural hazard mitigation, safety measures, and safe behaviors during and after an earthquake.
This program reinforces the Australian Embassy in Nepal and ESS’s commitment to promoting earthquake safety and preparedness within the community. It equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance resilience against potential seismic events.
