Delegation of the European Union to Nepal Conducted Basic Emergency Medical Response(BEMR) Training
On December 4, 2025, the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal organised a one-day Basic Emergency Medical Response (BEMR-1001) training for its staff members at its premises in Lazimpat, Kathmandu.
The training was facilitated by Earthquake Safety Solutions (ESS). It aimed to strengthen participants’ skills in handling immediate medical emergencies, ensuring better preparedness for future disasters. The session also served as a useful refresher, as most attendees had received similar training one year earlier.
The comprehensive training included both theoretical and hands-on learning, covering key topics such as Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), burn management, bleeding control, and shock management. Practical sessions enabled participants to perform CPR, relieve airway obstruction, and practice splinting and bandaging. These essential skills will empower participants to respond effectively to medical emergencies, ensuring better preparedness for future disasters. Overall, participants demonstrated increased confidence in responding to emergencies such as choking, nosebleeds, burns, and bleeding control.
