Mason Training on Earthquake Resistant Building Construction is ongoing in Kalimpong from January 7th to 11th, 2025. Supported by Caritas Germany and organized by Anugyalaya Darjeeling Diocese Social Service Society & Caritas India. The training aims to enhance the skills of 30 participants, including 2 engineers, in earthquake-resistant construction techniques. The training is part of the Integrated Disaster Risk Reduction & Environment (IDRRE) project in Darjeeling and Kalimpong, with technical assistance from the National Society for Earthquake Technology Nepal (NSET) and Earthquake Safety Solutions (ESS). In addition, the project will conduct Rapid vulnerability assessments for two schools, one in Kalimpong and another in Darjeeling, and demonstrate retrofit technology for one block.
