Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT) Held Refresher Training on Seismic Vulnerability Assessment and Retrofit Technique
The Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT) organized a three-day training course in Pokhara, including two days of seismic vulnerability assessment and retrofit technique. The training was attended by 22 technical staff members from GWT. The training aimed to update participants on seismic vulnerability assessment at the Area Welfare Centre (AWC), including methods, results, and best retrofit techniques. It also covered PP band retrofit techniques, cost, potential home selection, and methodology for single-story house surveys. The training was delivered by a team of experts from Earthquake Safety Solutions (ESS). The participants learned retrofitting techniques for earthquake-resistant buildings and found the training informative and beneficial. This training is part of the Trust’s efforts to improve knowledge and skills in earthquake safety
