US Embassy Conducted Successful CSAR Training in Kathmandu

The US Embassy in Kathmandu recently completed two sets of one-day Community Search and Rescue (1001) Training programs for its teams. With technical support from Earthquake Safety Solutions (ESS) and collaboration with the National Society for Earthquake Technology – Nepal (NSET). This initiative aimed to equip participants with crucial skills for effective emergency response.  The training was held on March 4th and 5th.

Participants were trained in multiple room search techniques to locate victims, safely lift and move heavy objects, apply different victim extrication techniques, bucket brigade fire response operations as a basic fire suppression technique, as well as training on the proper use of fire extinguishers. On March 4th, there were 22 participants (5 female, 17 male) and on March 5th, there were 24 participants (8 female, 16 male).
