Mr. Surya Narayan Shrestha is one of the board of directors at ESS. He is the representative of National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET) in the Board of Directors in ESS. Mr. Shrestha is Structural Engineer by profession. He has completed masters in Structural Engineering from Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University and doing PhD from Tribhuvan University in Nepal with research in University of Basilicata in Italy. He has more than 15 years of experience in the field of disaster risk reduction in Nepal and in the region. He holds the position of Executive Director in NSET. He is a Housner Fellow member and also member of EERI.
Dr. Ramesh Guragain, is one of the board of directors at ESS. He has PhD on Earthquake Engineering from The University of Tokyo. He has more than 15 years of experience in the field of earthquake risk reduction in Nepal and in countries across the region. The countries of working experience are mainly in Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Iran, and Afghanistan and shortly in other countries in South/south-east Asia. He has also lead a team of professionals at NSET for development of several training curricula and provided trainings to different target audiences. He is the deputy executive director of NSET.
Mr. Tika Sharma represents board of directors of ESS as President. He did his Bachelor of Commerce with Honors in Advance Accountancy from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, Meghalaya, India in 1976. He is with NSET since 2000 and serves as Finance Director. He is also one of the Board Members of NSET since July 2005. Prior to joining NSET Mr. Sharma served with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Nepal from March 1986 to July 2000.
Mr. Ganesh Kumar Jimee is one of the board of directors at ESS. He is working as Director of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response (DPER) Division at National Society for Earthquake Technology- Nepal (NSET). He joined NSET in 2001. Mr. Jimee holds M. Sc. in Earth Resources in Environmental Geo-sciences with specialization in Natural Hazard Studies from International Institute for Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), The Netherlands and M.A. in Geography from Central Department of Geography, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He has contributed for developing and evaluating the emergency response plans at community, organization, district and national levels. Mr. Jimee has worked in many countries as GIS expert and DRM expert.
Mr. Khadga Sen Oli is one of the board of directors in ESS. He is working as Advocacy and Outreach Manager for National Society for Earthquake Technology – Nepal (NSET). Mr. Oli is taking lead in overall advocacy and communication works of NSET that comprises Develop, produce and disseminate IEC Materials related to earthquake risk reduction and enhancing preparedness ranging also to multi hazards; Media coordination; i.e. print, electronic and social media; and Networking and Outreach. He is also affiliated to community led local initiatives and research studies on CBDRM. Mr. Oli is a Certified Instructor for advanced disaster response training courses: Medical First Responder (MFR), Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR), Training for Instructors and also Trainer for various DRR courses
