The existing retrofit design drawings were reviewed; while reviewing, it was observed that the previous design was done without seismic joint even the length to width ratio is high. Therefore, the building is redesigned by introducing seismic joints to avoid the torsional effect that may rise due to the high length to width ratio. By doing re-design, we could also minimize the overall cost of implementation by 12%. Therefore, the revised design was used for Implementation with the approval from school management.
